Infinite Consortium, Monday

It had been a good weekend in the creepy mansion in the woods. Even though it had been unlikely that they'd go out anywhere, there was something a little special about staying in to avoid a storm-- yes, even if that storm had been made of marshmallows more than snow or rain. Liliana and Ignis had stayed up late listening to the wind howling around the eaves, wrapped in blankets in front of the fireplaces, drinking cocoa and mulled wine (and, of course, coffee), playing chess and the lyre, sharing poetry and music, before finally heading upstairs to bed...and, eventually, to sleep. The next day, they'd enjoyed the chiming trees, Liliana describing how lovely they were in the gathering dusk, the woods around them illuminated by their lights.

Which was why this morning, Liliana was very much looking forward to discovering what today's surprise was. She didn't spot anything in the mansion, nor on the way to the shop...

...It was when she opened the door that she spotted a white chicken in a red cloak. Because it was sitting in her chair, looking for all the world, like queen of everything.

Liliana stared at the chicken. The chicken stared at Liliana. "On the one hand, I appreciate the attitude," she informed it. "On the other hand, that's my chair."

The pure white chicken ignored Liliana and proceeded to preen itself. A moment later it was unceremoniously tossed out of the chair, squawking and fluttering down to the ground. A few moments after that, it was a full on war inside the Consortium.

...Liliana had much preferred the twinkling trees and the marshmallow storm, thank you.

Fandom Museum, Sunday December 14th

Gregorith didn't think twice about the tree that he found in the lobby when he came in, assuming it was just part of the seasonal decoration. After he had settled in for the day, he contemplated it though. Deciding it needed a little something.

Sure the tinkling sparkles were nice but lights on a tree just weren't enough were they. So he went hunting in the storeroom and went to work adding some color.

"There. That's ridiculous. I'm sure Sharkie would be proud." And Bel would possibly be appalled. Asmodeus would be very amused, which Gregorith could be grouchy about. Win win.

The tree was now decorated with fabric swatches. The star at the top was made of paint color samples stapled together. He took pictures to send back home and then immediately started second guessing his choices. Especially the color sample star. Maybe that was too much.

The museum is open.

Stark Industries- Sunday

See, these were the kinds of things Rey liked in December. The sparkly pine trees were great. Walking through the park to work with all the chimes had been really nice!

And there was one at work. There was no bad here. Maybe by the end of her shift the chimes might actually get annoying but that was Future Rey's problem, right now she loved it.

Over Easy, Saturday

Raiden had noticed the marshmallow storm, of course, but he'd been in enough of a hurry to see how things were at Over Easy that he'd been able to mostly ignore it on his way there. "Everything looks great, guys, I'm really proud of you for keeping it going without me or Gray. Well. Mostly me." Raiden could be realistic about some things. "What've we got going for specials? Are they Christmas-y enough? Remember where we are. And who my brother is...yeah, those'll do! Oh, and, uh...don't let me go outside for a while, okay? No, I'm sure catching them out of the air is fine but I will eat the ground marshmallows."

Specials
Dark Chocolate Peppermint Pancakes
Eggnog Waffles
Prime Rib Eggs Benedict
Hot Chocolate

Blackstone Forge & Foundry, Friday

Henry did not own a lot of clothes, though he had recently, at least, acquired a coat through his earnings from the forge. And thus, when he finally made it to the forge come morning, in the coat and some Shenanigans t-shirt, he was--

"How? I haven't-- what's the-- how?"

He was, usually, a bit better at rolling with Fandom's strange whims nowadays; but sometimes, in the face of ruined clothes and no soap in sight, he could still lapse and panic and...

"Water. The water's returned!"

Sorry, forge. You'd be lit eventually. Just not before Henry washed everything he was wearing.

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey should have worn black. But no, she failed to look outside before leaving- a rookie mistake in December- and now she was going to have to spend a while in MCA's laundry room washing white clothes.

She was already irritated about that, but she was also spending training time trying to very carefully scrub the color off an unlucky woodchuck. "I'm going to need you to stop squirming if you want me to do this," she said. "Unless you want to run through the course while I turn on the rain controls."

Trooper Station, Friday

Watts's normally ambling walk to the Trooper Station had become a bit of a mad dash today once he'd realised what was going on with the snow. Luckily, he'd been able to snatch up an abandoned newspaper (a real good trick in a town that didn't actually publish a newspaper these days, but Watts supposed some people must have subscriptions to publications from the mainland- or wherever it is they might be from, for that matter) and so while his hat had been speckled with a few flecks here or there, he'd managed to avoid most of it.

Once he'd settled in for the day he sent a quick text to Steven advising him to bring an umbrella when he came by for lunch, and then got down to business as usual at the Station. Which mostly meant fielding calls regarding lawn gnome thefts, today.

No, not thefts of gnomes. Thefts allegedly by the gnomes.

The Perk- Thursday afternoon

Maybe it was because she'd been alone today before now, but Rey had made it to the Peek without incident. She'd ordered her drink without a problem.

But she'd just sat down at her table when the mistletoe started its thing, and she was glad she had a to go cup or the coffee would have gone everywhere.

The barista who'd made her drink kind of shrugged like she'd been dealing with this all day but hey, she was open. Rey was ignoring them both.

Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

It was a busy time of year in work and out. At the moment Steven was combining the two, as Blathers had asked him to take care of sending something to the various vendors they used to wish them a happy holidays.

Which in turn had Steven grateful he'd already done his shopping for gifts for Blathers and Gregorith.

On top of that, Hanukkah was next week and there was a chance Steven and Llewellyn would be out of town for the bulk of it. As such Steven was busy making sure everything was taken care of just to be safe. He didn't want to leave Gregorith feeling like he'd been burdened with extra work during the holidays after all.

Steven was very busy behind the Welcome Desk, but interruptible for visitors of course.

Pick Your Poison, Wednesday

Adrian wasn't entirely sure how the water in his systems had gotten turned into holiday beverages, but then, who was he to grouse about magic not being logical?

So there would be no major cleaning today, leaving him time to work on his list of Christmas presents for people...and trying to convince Lydia-kitty to forgive him for not informing her that Bran turned into a raven before this. She was apparently very upset about him keeping that from her and was ostentatiously ignoring him.

And sometimes glancing backwards to make sure he noticed that she was VERY MUCH IGNORING HIM.

Tino was riding a lit up reindeer outside. She told him they could just put lights on the mechanical bull and he wouldn't chance getting thrown down any stairs, and yet.

Also now she had to get lights for the mechanical bull for the holidays.

The Magpie Emporium, Monday [08/12]

Vi was not overly a fan of the sweater the island had saddled her with, especially as despite it's seemingly shoddy construction, the arms were quite firmly attached and quite impossible to remove.

Still, it could have been worse, as the island had also decided that Saffron needed a sweater of her own, and she was extremely displeased by this turn of events. Save her, Snuggle Human, she was trapped!

Infinite Consortium, Monday

The shirt she was being forced to wear was really stretching the definition of 'sweater' practically to the breaking point, but it had two things going for it: the first, it was fuzzy and soft on the inside, which she appreciated. The second...well, she couldn't say she didn't see how the island might have been inspired to give it to her. It's not like she didn't see the resemblance.

"Honestly, this holiday would be vastly improved if we celebrated with topless women rather than angels everywhere," she said with withering disdain to the raven that had followed her into work today. "As a reminder, bird," she added, with less disdain and more disgust, "if you do turn out to be a message sent by the Raven Man, there won't be enough of you to stuff a pincushion."

The raven croaked at her. Had she told him something similar every time he startled her by coming into her field of vision? Yes. And she would continue to do so, thank you.

"You're lucky your parents are attractive," she muttered. "Otherwise I would have left you to fend for yourself in the school."

Stark Industries- Sunday

Rey loved polar bear day. They were adorable and friendly (which they were not in the wild, a fact she pretended didn't exist since it was unlikely to be an issue) and she strolled up to work with a Coke in hand.

There was a different polar bear out front, offering her another bottle. She tried saying she already had one, but he did get a little pushy about it. He wasn't aggressive, but she was made very aware that he was trying to give her something and she was supposed to accept it, what do you mean you already have one?

...so she strolled into work with two Cokes and a guilt trip.

Fandom Museum, Sunday December 7

The unexpected arrival of a polar bear(!) in the museum startled Gregorith. It startled him. And it concerned him. He would freely admit to being afraid if he was afraid but he wasn't. Yet.

He dropped his disguise, much the same way a red panda might rear up to appear larger.

The polar bear blinked at him.

Gregorith stared.

The polar bear stared.

Then the polar bear extended a paw and offered him a bottle of coke.

"Oh. Uh, thanks."

The museum is open.

Strokes of Genius, Friday December 5

Gregorith had just happened to have some horse friendly snacks on him when he left the house today. After he'd gone out, discovered the adorable tiny horses and gone back in to scrounge around for some.

So he had a little friend with him in a makeshift corral that he'd set up because adorableness aside, he'd been dead set on working on art today.

It just wound up being more him sketching le horse wee-tiny than pottery. Because he also knew he needed to keep a close eye on it so it didn't break anything or hurt itself.

He was also listening to Master of the Bracelets on audio. He'd found a version someone had made with the Howard Shore score added in which he hoped would help him get through it.

The horse was fast asleep. "Yeah," he said softly, pencil gliding over the paper, "I liked the movies better too. I won't tell if you won't."

Rey's warehouse- Friday

You might think that in a large warehouse with a lot going on inside it, you might not hear the little horses on the roof. But you did. And it echoed.

Rey took the opportunity to get some meditation in, figuring that it was good practice in shutting out distractions. It was made harder by the woodchucks, who seemed to be driven crazy by the little clip clops. After a while of sitting in the air about a foot off the ground with her eyes closed, Rey did hear the door slam as they left, and now the distraction was wondering how they got over the quicksand.

You know, Lucifer was in a Good Mood. It had been a bit since he'd been a bit-- well, gleeful like this.

So of course he got behind the piano. Didn't even mind the horses clambering all over it, really. No, he was having far too much fun. "I'm a shootin' star leaping through the sky like a tiger, defying the laws of gra-vi-tyyyy...."

Yes, this was going to continue all evening. Tiny, for his part, had found some earbuds and was sitting quietly in the corner, waiting for it to end.

The telephone simply would. Not. Stop. Ringing.

And none of the calls were about any actual crime. Or even anything at all. Every time he picked up the telephone, there was just... silence.

Which is why Watts ended up shrugging out of his suit jacket so he could throw said jacket over the constantly-ringing telephone, in hopes it would muffle it somewhat. It certainly didn't silence it entirely, but... good enough.

"Oh, you'd like Pebbles," Henry said, beaming at the little white horse. "She's a mite bit bigger than you, though. Might not want to slip underfoot." He laughed. "Or underhoof, I suppose!"

He leaned over to gently wave the little white horse away from the fire. "Careful, you'll burn yourself," he said. "The world must look mighty dangerous from down there, actually. D'you get in holes and such a lot? Hope you don't get stuck..."

The forge was open, the resident yapper blacksmith was in. (So were at least two to three tiny white houses clambering over everything.)
